Job Overview

The Senior Android Software Engineer will be a critical role and is accountable for developing great products. iTriage has been downloaded well over 1 million times and has an average rating of 4.5 stars. Google has made iTriage a featured app in the Android Market multiple times. We want to extend this successful app with many more features and optimize for other platforms such as tablets and Google TV.

This position reports directly to the VP Engineering, and works within a small technology/engineering team.

Job Qualifiations

General
  • 1 year experience developing apps in Android. This should be recent experience, using API level 7, 8 and 9 and familiarity with Honeycomb.
  • 5 – 10 years software development experience
  • Java, Linux, SQLite in Android, Eclipse, JSON, XML
  • Object-oriented programming and design including Model-View-Controller architecture
  • Multi-threading and background tasks
Android-specific experience
  • Web services in Android and efficient data transfer between server and the device.
  • Optimizing for multiple device screen sizes and OS versions
  • UI design and efficient layouts
  • Managing apps in the Android Market
  • Automated testing in Android
  • Android tools including debugging
  • Android Activities, Services, Intents and Intent Filters, custom widgets, and other core concepts in the Android framework
