Healthagen LLC is a privately-held technology start-up founded in late 2008 by two emergency medicine physicians. It is a global developer of mobile and web healthcare software that empowers consumers to make better healthcare decisions, as well as improve healthcare delivery for providers and payers. Healthagen is located in Lakewood, Colorado, and has a small but growing entrepreneurial team.

Healthagen has developed and launched the iTriage platform, including its first flagship consumer mobile and web product, iTriage (iPhone and Android apps, and Mobile Web and Desktop Web at www.iTriageHealth.com). iTriage offers users an easy, fast, and trusted medical symptom to treatment search and decision engine. It answers the two basic questions asked by most healthcare consumers…“What is wrong with me?” and “Where should I go for treatment?”

Job Overview

The Web UI Software Engineer will be a critical role and is accountable for developing great products. iTriage has over 1 million users across the web, iPhone and Android versions. Web UI is also consumed in our mobile apps, so this position is very important to us as we grow the use of iTriage and improve the user experience.

This position reports directly to the VP Engineering, and works within a small technology/engineering team.

Job Qualifiations

The ideal candidate will have the following:

General

  • 3 years experience developing rich internet applications.
  • 5 – 10 years software development experience
  • Javascript, Java, Eclipse, XML
  • Object-oriented programming and design including Model-View-Controller architecture
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Web UI specific experience

  • JQuery (or similar framework)
  • Javascript
  • CSS, HTML (including HTML5)
  • AJAX
  • JSON & RESTful web services
  • Ruby on Rails
  • SEO page optimization
  • Mobile web frameworks such as Titanium, PhoneGap, Sencha Touch
  • UI design and efficient layouts
  • Automated testing with Selenium and Cucumber
  • Debugging tools including Firebug
Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver a best-in-class user interface as part of an exceptional user experience
  • Influence the architecture of the web application
  • Help define requirements for projects
  • Translate feature requirements into sound, creative software designs
  • Creatively solve problems
  • Work collaboratively with others
  • Produce solid, thoroughly tested  features (including automated tests)
  • Plan and execute software releases
